Founders Grille & 

Located on Penn National Golf Course, Founders Grille is open to the public, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner daily during the golf season.  Grab a bite to eat at our turn window while you are on the course, savor a leisurely dinner in the restaurant, featuring entrees specially designed by our executive chef, or enjoy a pint of Center Square Brewing beer on the patio while taking in the amazing mountain views.

 

Food service at Founders Grille is provided by Altland House Hospitality Group, who have been involved in the management of Founders Grille for over 30 years.  Altland House Hospitality Group has been a leading caterer in South Central Pennsylvania since the 1950's, operating multiple restaurants in the area throughout the years.  Food service and hospitality are at the foundation of Altland House Hospitality Group. Center Square Brewing, also under the Altland House Hospitality Group umbrella, creates the tasty beer that can be found on tap at Founders Grille. 

 

With the addition of locally crafted Center Square Brewing beer, we've created the Black Oak Bar within Founders Grille.  Our bar is open daily, serving a rotating selection of CSB draft beers along with other featured Pennsylvania wines and distilled beverages.  The name Black Oak Bar is a nod to the nearly 200-year-old champion black oak tree that grew majestically on our property near the Penn State Mont Alto campus.  At 110' tall and 243 inches around, it was almost 2 times as tall and nearly 7 times wider than a typical black oak tree.  This champion black oak grew from 1840 until it fell in 2017, living through the Civil War and the Industrial Revolution.  The tree was loved and climbed by decades of Penn State Mont Alto forestry students.  Today, you will find black oak features in our bar that were able to be repurposed from this champion black oak tree when it fell.
